US! Consequently, our mechanics know little "tricks" such as extra braces &
doublers to help curtail "oil canning" of the wing skins during near VNE
descents etc..
In an instant at the push of a button, they extend or retract and can nearly double the drag on a M20 airframe and allow the pilot to more fully control most every flight regime. Besides making every landing and approach perfect, you can utilize them to "duck under" overcasts through holes which would not otherwise easily quality, and to recover from most IFR approaches when otherwise you would have to go around or declare a "missed approach".......
