Local Venice Florida Accommodations

While many of our clients soon make our SW Florida Gulf Front tropical paradise location one of their favorite vacation hide-a-ways, and rent one of our numerous waterfront vacation condo's, rental/lease properties, or stay in a local B&B etc., here we provide a short list of popular accommodations for those of you who aren't familiar with the Venice area and who may just want an overnight place to stay while picking up your Mooney or waiting for service etc.   

While being extremely hard on my waistline, you will be pleased to find we local Mooniacs savor numerous "Award Winning" restaurants, pubs, and local eclectic waterfront eateries which you will want to return to often.....  Please contact our office staff for more listings, advice, or assistance in making reservations, etc.

Remember, uniquely our airport is right "downtown" as the heart of Venice is on a small (1 mile by 3 mile) "island".   Venice has a gorgeous 3 to 5 mile public beach within walking distance from the airport and nearly everywhere.  So, you can walk or bicycle to nearly all your wants and needs if you stay anyplace on the "island" or just off it.

    Closest to airport (1/2 mi.) 5 minute walk away and 5-10 minute walk to downtown shops.   On the "island", recently remodeled, pool, nice & clean single story motel within walking distance to restaurants, lounges, shopping, airport, & "downtown" Venice.  Moderately to economically priced but fills fast during winter season.  Great breakfasts & popular with our "overnight" clients.

  2. Kon-Tiki Motel, Marina & Waterfront Restaurant

    Close to airport on the "island" and part of a marina/restaurant/lounge complex on the Intercoastal Waterway.  Small single story complex literally across the street from the airport but requires a 5-10 minute walk around airport boundary (1/2) mi.) for access.  About 1- 2 miles from shopping, downtown stores, and other restaurants etc.

    Close to airport (1/2-3/4 mile) 5-10 minute walk away, older economical single story motel, clean, not many amenities.  Within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, lounges, "downtown" attractions, etc.

    Just off the "island" near the South bridge but nearby airport boundary approx. 1 mile walk.  Newer 2 story motel w/pool & good restaurant,  near K-Mart & 2 large shopping centers, restaurants, multi-screen cinemas, etc.  

  5. Candle-Lite Motel

    Economical motel w/pool near airport (1 mile off island to the South), but short 3 minute walk to shopping centers, multi-screen cine', numerous restaurants, etc.  Approx. 6-10 minute walk to airport

    Right on the Gulf  w/private beach, heated pool, smallish 2-3 story hotel w/pool.   A 5-10 minute walk to everything downtown including numerous restaurants, lounges, shopping, etc.  About 3 miles from airport but a favorite for weekend and week long stays.

  3. Hampton Inn & Key West Grill Restaurant

    About 3-4  miles from airport on the North side of Venice on By-Pass US 41, 3/4 mile from "downtown" & beach.  New 3 story w/heated pool & spa, complementary breakfast, walk to good restaurant/bar.

  4. Holiday Inn Venice

    Nice 2 story hotel/motel w/heated pool about 3 miles from airport & 2 miles from "downtown" & beach.  Walk to shopping centers & numerous good restaurant/lounges.   Complete w/banquet center, bar, restaurant, and stand-up Comedy Club Theater.  

  5. Venice Villas Beachfront Apartments
    908 Villas Dr., Venice, FL. 34285  (941) 844-2802
    An older but clean one story cottage/motel complex right on the Gulf w/heated pool & private beach, downtown on the island in a quaint up-scale residential area.  Good for week or longer stays 10 minute walk to shopping, airport, restaurants. Possible shorter stays out of  "season" allowed.

Venice Area Visitor Factoids

Being a popular up-scale winter resort destination Venice area accommodations include weekly/monthly rental Gulfront Condo's, waterfront B&B's, golf course condo's and (of course) the usual fare of "econo" motels, hotels, and resorts. 
Nearby larger Sarasota (15 minute drive to the North) features many national hotels such as Hyatt, Holiday Inn, Ramada Inns, etc.   
Also, the exclusive Boca Grande Island (featuring The Boca Grand Club/Resort) is but a 20-30 minute drive to the South and is well known as a favorite Presidential Retreat and trophy fishing capitol as well as home of countless up-scale winter retreat homes and vacation condo's. 
Slightly farther down the coast South bound, many of our fly-in Mooniacs visit the Ft. Myers Area which features Sanabel and Captiva Islands which boast many tony up-scale winter retreats.  Interestingly, North Captiva Island (a "true" tropical island) has numerous privately owned beachfront home rentals and is only accessible via Mooney or boat as it features a grass 2,300' strip.   N. Captiva  also has one of the best eclectic waterfront pub's around, "Barnacle Phil's" which is famous for its black bean chili, huge hamburgers, and great Grouper Sandwiches.
