#105MMA: Award 262 Speed Kit:
This mod includes overlapping nose gear doors (which help lower engine exhaust noise), low profile main gear doors, Teflon aileron gap seals, and re-installing the ELT antenna inside the existing f/g dorsal fin. The low profile main gear doors removes the stock bubble doors which utilize the teardrop fairing, and replaces them with 205 style; flat inner gear doors. The brake pucks are reversed, and the tear drop fairing are removed for a more streamline gear closure presentation. While the aerodynamic streamlining of this mod also reduces the working load on the gear motor/transmission in transit, we also feel this mod is probably good for 2-4 MPH gain at cruise as well. Price includes rotating brake pucks and does not include paint. The overlapping nose gear doors are OEM Mooney 252 and help quiet the cabin at cruise. Installed on M20J and K models only.

Note: This mod results in a 2 gear door system & does not include the (ineffective) 205/252 factory 3rd inner gear door. Our tests and information indicate that the factory 3rd gear door system actually probably does very little to add the efficiency at the higher cruise speeds.

Low Profile/Low Drag INNER GEAR DOORS VS OEM Stock Inner Gear Doors (For Most All Electric Gear Equipped M20's).

Low Profile/Low Drag Inner Gear Door Mods Are Available For Most OEM Stock 2 Door M20 Such As: M20B, C, D, E, F, G, J, K/231, PFM/L, etc. Note: It is not intended for later models which already have an OEM third (205/252 style) inner gear door and no rear teardrop faring on the wing.

This door requires the Royalite Teardrop faring behind the door on wing bottom and exhibits about twice the drag when retracted as our Low Profile Doors.
Low Profile (flatter) Inner Gear Door
Our improved Low Drag door allows for a hidden or rotated brake puck assy. resulting in a door which has nearly no drag when retracted. (Shown here in un-painted gray)
