While we have certain speed mods for nearly every M20 produced, this Speed Mod Kit is primarily suited for early vintage ('83 or older) M20J/K's. Call for specific applications, options, and pricing.

This complete 18 piece kit as installed at our facility includes:

Teflon aileron gap seals

F/G dorsal fin (allowing a hidden ELT Ant; at an option)

Current production OEM Mooney overlapping nose gear doors

Rudder and elevator hinge covers

Wing root fairings

Inboard flap seals and check of rigging

Low Profile/Low Drag Main Gear Doors-Optional (allowing for removal of wing teardrop fairing and rotating the break pucks)

When this complete 201/231 Speed Kit is installed it can add approx. 5-12 MPH and 100 FPM ROC to Pre '84 vintage Mooneys and contributes significantly towards a much quieter cabin.

Because performance figures for early vintage M20J and K's were given w/few antennas and no step etc., they were thought to be somewhat optimistic with real world production aircraft. Just as importantly, Mooney gradually increased performance and utility through out the years via the introduction of several aerodynamic improvements such as in 1980 (f/glass wing tips and dorsals), '82 (fold down rear seats and articulating front seats, etc.) and then again in '84 (f/glass belly and o/lapping n/gear doors, etc). Consequently modifying or up-dating M20J's and turbo M20K's to near current production standards has proven to be very popular and widely accepted by the re-sale marketplace. Usually the performance of most any eariler M20 can now match recent current production MSE's and cabins can be made equally quieter or better!
